Expert skiers will prefer to try out the resort's 20 kilometres of black slopes, with pistes designed to suit all tastes. Naturally, you can also book lessons with one of the local ski schools and learn the right techniques from experienced instructors.

Thanks not least to its modern lift systems,  both younger and older skiers alike can enjoy a smooth and exciting holiday on the slopes at Obergurgl. The 24 ski lifts can take around 40,000 people an hour up to the slopes, so there is no need for a long wait. You can easily reach even the highest peaks at over 3,000 metres and admire the fantastic alpine views before your descent. When you reach the bottom, you can relax in one of the numerous ski huts. Many of the bars have an inviting terrace, where you can sit in a lounger and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate, soak up the sun and admire the scenery. The resort also caters magnificently for hungry and thirsty skiers. As well as Kaiserschmarrn, strudel and other traditional Austrian specialities, you will find a wide range of international dishes.

Winter holidaymakers can also use the shuttle buses free of charge to move between the outlying villages that form part of Obergurgl. In fact, it's so easy to get up to each one of the pistes that you can concentrate on having a great time in the snow and leave your car back in the car park. One of the great attractions for ski fans who come to Obergurgl is the fact the pistes are so easy to reach. Nearly all the descents end in the valley close to the hotels, so visitors can move on to another piste very quickly.

Throughout the season from November to May, snow is pretty much guaranteed on the slopes around Obergurgl.
